I recently purchased a CR-48 off eBay to replace my Dell XPS M1530 which died, here is my experiences with different operating systems:
Chrome OS: Quick Boot and nice to browse the web in, problem is I have no way to play my music, and I don't have a good html/js/css/php editor.
Windows 7 32bit: Works nicely, and all the hardware detected including the bluetooth(bluetooth driver that finally worked).
Mac OS X: Installed 10.6.3 felt a bit sluggish because it didn't have QE(Quartz Extreme, basically it can't take advantage of the graphics card :/) Also no trackpad support
Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop i386: Felt fairly snappy only thing holding me back is no trackpad support UGH!
Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix: The huge menu/window it uses for applications seems to really bog it down, but the trackpad does work nicely.

About a month ago I discovered a really good framework for building web applications on WebKit called Sencha Touch.
So I decided to test it out by building a simple note taking application for Android and iOS it works on any WebKit browser(Chrome, Safari), it uses HTML5 for storing the notes and for caching.
Check out my application for yourself here: http://paitoanderson.com/notes!
Here are some pictures of what it looks like on my iPad: Pic1, Pic2, Pic3 and Pic4
And my application source code for better or for worse is here.
I would like to attend a Sencha Conference one day, and I am sure it is worth every penny but it is a bit to expensive for me right now.

It's been awhile (not that I have ever been known to post on here very often).
I decided to give my very green website a little redesign on march break. I am still working on a portfolio for it, but I am reasonably happy with the blog part of the website.
Please feel free to leave your thoughts good or bad in the comments.

I had a great day in Toronto at Ontario [GNU] Linux Fest!
I think one of the best presentations was put on by Dr. David H. Chan, he was speaking on how the open source project OSCAR was and could save the Canadian government a billion developing a proprietary system.
Beagleboard is pretty cool but I think I would waste way to much time on it if I had one.
I liked how facebook wasn't mentioned once, and twitter was talked about alot :)
Can't wait for Ubuntu Moblin remix guys!

I just purchased the HTC Dream!
It is unlocked and activated. But I am not on a plan yet.
It is running Official Android 1.6, I may root it shortly. But I am a bit scared it may lock it again.
Google Wave works, but it is very buggy and a bit slow right now.
I'll probably be posting more about this awesome device in the future.

Even Byre just released his php framework called Dingo to the public today.
Wish you all the best as your project develops Evan.
All I need to do now is just figure out how to use it, and find a good use for it somewhere...

Had a awesome day at Ohio LinuxFest '09!
I think the best presentation was put on by Russ Turk from Source Forge, speaking on Open Source Businesses.
I also heard a very nice presentation by Don Vosburg from Novell about Moblin on netbooks.
I noticed netbooks really dominated this years olf, and a couple people running around with the infamous olpc netbooks.
Received a cool shirt from TLLTS, Thanks guys!

While I am not a huge fan of the iPhone, I think that mobile devices especially the iPhone are beginning to deserve more attention from web developers.
I recently discovered iUI which is a great framework for making native looking websites on the iPhone.
Here is what this site looks like on the iPhone:

Best viewed on a AppleWebKit powered browser (Safari, Chrome).

I can't believe how far Microsoft is going to promote Internet Explorer 8 here is a list of their latest ads they are showing:
O.M.G.I.G.P. - Internet Explorer 8
S.H.Y.N.E.S.S. - Internet Explorer 8
F.O.M.S. - Internet Explorer 8
G.R.I.P.E.S. - Internet Explorer 8
I am posting these ads "for" IE8 to discourage people from switching.
Here is a ad for the new Firefox 3.5 just for good measure:
Cool Video ad and What's new in Firefox 3.5?.

I recently discovered a cool way to scrobble music with mplayer to Last.fm with lastfmsubmitd.
First you need to install lastfmsubmitd and enter your last.fm Username and Password in /etc/lastfmsubmitd.conf(plain text sorry) and add it to your DAEMONS().
Second you need to compile mplayer from source with a modified mplayer.c here is mine it currently works with the latest svn.
That should be it, feel free to email me if you have problems or need help.
Credit goes to Piotr aka Banthar for his patch.

Not too much to say right now, but hopefully in the future I will have the odd thing to post here.
